Parade of Flags
Seward’s Parade of Flags
Since 2014, Seward’s Parade of Flags has welcomed residents and visitors with a colorful and patriotic display celebrating our nation and its people.
The display features the United States flag, all 50 state flags, 7 service flags, the POW/MIA flag, and 5 territory flags. Together, they create a powerful symbol of unity, service, and pride for the community.
Exposure to the sun and wind causes wear over time, so the flags are replaced twice each year to maintain their appearance. The annual cost of replacement and upkeep is approximately $6,000. Other ongoing maintenance includes signage, landscaping, and lighting to ensure the area remains an attractive and welcoming landmark.
Visitors have stopped at the display from over 89 Nebraska communities, 47 states, and 15 countries, making it a true point of pride for Seward.
The Seward Kiwanis Club is responsible for maintaining the flags and display area, while the City of Seward cares for the surrounding grassy areas.
